Twelve months
- Contact and book a wedding consultant
- Select and schedule a facility for the ceremony
- Select a reception facility and book caterer
- Contact and book a photographer and videographer
- Select and book a florist and bakery
- Select and book the musicians for the ceremony & reception
- Select your wedding party attendants
Nine months
- Begin your guest list
- Select hotels and reserve blocks of rooms for your out-of-town guests
- Visit clergy member or justice of the peace with your fiancé
- Select and order wedding attire
- Register for gifts
- Consult travel agent about honeymoon
Six months
- Order the invitations and prepare necessary maps to be enclosed
- Order attendants’ dresses
- Finalize honeymoon arrangements
- Discuss rehearsal dinner with fiancé and families
Three months
- Finalize your guest list
- Finalize music with musicians and/or DJ
- Order place cards, thank you cards, etc.
- Check state requirements for blood test
- Make an appointment with your hair stylist
- Select and order wedding attire
- Send announcement to newspapers
- Contact caterer to set menu
- Order rings
Six to Eight weeks
- Give estimated number of guests to caterer
- Place requests with photographer videographer
- Mail invitations
- Purchase gifts for your attendants
- Have final fittings for wedding attire
- Have portraits taken
- Pick up rings
- 1/3 payment due to caterer
Two weeks
- Final number of guests to reception manager or caterer
- Confirm details with musician, photographer, and baker
- Make arrangements for gifts brought to reception
- Get marriage license with fiancé
- Confirm honeymoon reservations
